Vision 25

Dad has always talked about me leaving his house. Started saying it since I was 15.

He doesn’t need to think far for examples to "motivate" me.
(I’d say threaten instead😅)...

He uses himself, emphasizing how young he left home with his uncle to start his hustle.

I was very confident I’d do so well by the time I turn 25. That silver jubilee is my ticket to losing financial dependence from him.
In my head I was like;
I’d finish Sec school at 16
Study a 4 or 5 year course, graduating at 21 max
Be engaged with a business while searching for a well paid job. And by the time I’m 24, I’d have saved enough to live on my own.

Ha😅... I laugh at the timeline reality.

To be honest, I’m not as confident as I was eight years ago. Yes I’m working, yes I’m earning (little yet it counts), but as I’ve come to discover there are circumstances beyond my control that dwindle the reality of my wish list.

I’ll be turning 23 in less than two weeks and I believe it’s a good time to reevaluate my decade long plan.

PS: Circumstances beyond my control includes the strikes, pandemic to mention a few. _ Should have concluded school in 2020 according to my plan.
PPS: I feel the pressure no doubt.
